The Citizen’s Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter is a volunteer group that supports the work of the Lakewood Animal Shelter, raising money to provide for the medical needs of animals at the shelter and for spaying and neutering them.
Its annual Hair of the Dog Happy Hour and Silent Auction, now in its 14th year, benefits the cause. Taking place at Around the Corner on the Lakewood/Rocky River border, it features an array of raffle baskets (including a $2,000 pair of diamond earrings from Marlan Jewelers) and silent auction items, appetizers, an open bar, music by Tricky Dick and the Cover-Ups and even the opportunity to knock various local personalities, including Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers, in the dunk tank. Those Lakewood Hospital activists should be lining up for that!
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
